Hi, I'm currently a senior in high school and I want to go to college for marketing and pr. I also eventually want to work in fashion. I've visited Pace and NYU and I love the idea of eventually working in NY. But all of my friends are going to schools where there is actually a campus and where they could actually get a true college experience. I'm torn because there is more opportunity for fashion in New York. Do you recommend going to school in the city or does it not even matter? Thanks!

Picking a college is a very tough decision, and there are a lot of factors to weigh.  I recommend going to a college that:

a) You can afford

b) Offers the right courses for your major

c) Offers a student/teacher ratio that makes it an effective learning environment for you

d) Has proven career placement results

e) Gets you excited when you go for a campus visit

Speak to some of the students there, go on a tour, and make the decision that is in your best interest. Don’t go somewhere just because a friend or boyfriend/girlfriend is going there. Choose a school where you will be happy spending a good chunk of your life.

Good luck!
